Prostiva RF Therapy with NJCUC

Prostiva RF therapy is a safe, in-office procedure with few side effects. The therapy uses low-level radio frequency heat energy to destroy excess prostate tissue in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
After Prostiva RF therapy treatment, the treated tissue shrinks and the urethra is no longer "squeezed". This may help you to urinate more normally.

The procedure takes about an hour, plus some additional preparation and recovery time.
PROSTIVA is the most recent generation of Medtronic’s TUNA (Transurethral Needle Ablation) device used for in-office RF treatment of Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH).
It is a minimally invasive procedure designed for a very specific form of male obstructive voiding dysfunction usually treated with oral medications. The treatment can do away with the need to take the medications.
Advantages:

Minimal or no bleeding with the procedure
Less than 1% chance for retrograde (dry) ejaculation
Alleviates the need for oral medication rapidly
Usually catheter free within 12 hours
Marked improvement in voiding within 4 weeks of procedure
Durability of 5 years or greater, in most cases
